Matthew 2:2 tells us that the magi were searching for Jesus and arriving in Jerusalem they asked king Herod “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.”

Think about a star for a moment. Today the closest star to the earth is Alpha Centauri which is 4.37 light years away. In other words, the light we see as we look at that star tonight was actually emitted over four years ago. And God, who created the universe and that star, also created a star back in eternity past, somewhere in the universe, and perfectly planned the light to first reach earth when Jesus was born, and, to also guide those magi to Him.

What a great God we serve. The Almighty God, creator and sustainer of the whole universe, loves you and I. Praise Him during this Christmas season.
